2. Protection against malware.

4. Unsafe websites

CHAPTER 1: Protection against IP grabbers

What is an IP address?

An IP address is a unique address that helps identify devices on the internet or a local network. In essence, IP addresses are the identifier that allows information to be sent between devices on a network: they contain location information and make devices accessible for communication. The internet needs a way to differentiate between different computers, routers, and websites. IP addresses provide a way of doing so and form an essential part of how the internet works. If a hacker gets their hands on an IP address they can do various different things such as: Hack your device, DDoS your internet ETC.

How do I hide my IP address?

The easiest way to hide your IP address is using a VPN (virtual private network).

What is a VPN?

Using a VPN hides your IP address and redirects your traffic through a separate server, making it much safer for you online. When you use a VPN it takes your original IP address and replaces it with a new one which will provide you with a new IP, so if you click on an IP grabber when you have a VPN switched on  the IP grabber pulls a fake IP, which keeps you safe!

CHAPTER 2: Protection against malware.

What is Malware?

Malware is a catch-all term for any type of malicious software designed to harm or exploit any programmable device, service or network. Cybercriminals typically use it to extract data that they can leverage over victims for financial gain. That data can range from financial data, to healthcare records, to personal emails and passwords—the possibilities of what sort of information can be compromised have become endless.

How do I protect myself against malware?

The best way to protect yourself against malware is to use an anti-virus (AV). An AV is a software that runs in the background of your computer whenever it’s switched on, running checks for malware/harmful software on your device. The best anti-viruses are McAfee, Kaspersky and AVG.

CHAPTER: 3 ACCOUNT SAFETY

Why should I keep my account safe?

To start off with, your account is your privacy if you don’t keep it safe. Hackers can get their hands on it and do many things with it, for example post malicious messages using your account or even delete your account.

How do I keep my account safe?

The 2 best ways to keep your account safe are:

2 factor authentication (2FA):

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) works by adding an additional layer of security to your online accounts. It requires an additional login credential – beyond just the username and password – to gain account access, and getting that second credential requires access to something that belongs to you.

Using unique passwords:

Using unique passwords is an essential part of keeping your account safe from the hands of hackers, for example don’t use a password like “123456” change it to something like “0NeTw0tI-IrEe” just remember not to forget your password cause that would not be fun, trust me.

CHAPTER 4: UNSAFE WEBSITES

  What are “unsafe websites”?

Unsafe websites are caused by unsafe domains that are external links to websites that could contain phishing, malware, or unwanted software. Phishing: Imitation of another website, designed to trick users into sharing personal or financial information

How do I watch out for “unsafe websites”?

The easiest way to find unsafe websites is by looking at its protocol, if it says “http://” do not click on that link. Only click on links if it says “https://”

That is it for today rebels, stay safe on the internet and see y’all next time, Byee!
